We’re not sure why, but we always find this beloved Russian end-of-year ritual interesting.
Russians, sentimental souls that they are, LOVE New Year’s Eve, and the message from the country’s leader is the most emotional moment, and literally, the whole country tunes in with champagne glasses at the ready. After the leader’s words, the clock strikes 12, and everyone cheers, embraces, kisses, exchanges warm words, and parties all night.
